Romana Pilates Advanced Apprentice

Rochelle, an active-duty Naval Officer, is from San Diego, CA, and has been excelling through our Instructor Training program at TPVB. She began her Pilates journey over ten years ago to help with her form and muscle isolation in weightlifting. She quickly learned how Pilates could help her entire body, and it carried over into her everyday life.

“Pilates is physical rehabilitation that brings my body back to life and keeps me functioning as best possible.” Learning about the Pilates method has helped her work through injuries and strengthen her performance in her other sports. She continues to enjoy learning all the modalities and apparatuses that Pilates offers.

Her favorite apparatus in the studio is the Wunda Chair. “It took me a long time to fall in love with the smallest apparatus in the studio, the Wunda chair, which can be so hard! But I have truly learned to love it.”
She believes Pilates can help everyone regardless of body type, age, or ability and took up teaching to make sure her clients reap the same benefits she has.

When she is not in the studio, you can find her in uniform as a U.S. Navy Public Affairs Officer, telling the Navy’s story to the American public, writing speeches, and strategically advising the Navy’s most senior leadership on communication issues. We are so proud to have a local hero in the studio!

She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and, of course, her French Bulldog, Lucy!

Her favorite quote: “Change happens through movement, and movement heals.
